baublebar x nordstrom collab hits stores!

are you guys familiar with baublebar? it is by far one of my favorite places to order gorgeous, unique, trendy jewelry. they seriously have some of the most adorable pieces you can find anywhere. the prices range, but you can find some great stuff at a moderate cost. you also collect “vault points” which add up and are applied to your next orders to get $ off, which is awesome if you are a frequent shopper.

i definitely recommend following baublebar on social media because they are always hosting amazing giveaways – instagram, twitter, facebook, and they even have a fun blog called “the post”.

baublebar already has a fabulous collab with anthropologie (my obsession with anthro is almost unhealthy…) and you can check it out here! however, i am beyond excited for their latest partnership with nordstrom!!! here are a few of my favorite pieces in this beautiful line:

crystal drop earrings – $34

stone stud earrings – $24 (multiple colors available)

hostess with the mostess: brunch

some of my favorite things about spring are parties, flowers, and fruits. what better way to celebrate the sunny weather than by hosting a springtime brunch with friends? here are some of my biggest tips for hosting a lovely little brunch:

fresh flowers

Image

how wonderful does it feel to see fresh blooms everywhere at the first sign of spring? flowers are the perfect way to decorate the table and keep everyone in a great mood. i love the idea of using a mason jar or an old candle jar as a vase!

a delicious menu

Image

the best part of brunch is definitely the food. this french toast recipe is perfect for a group and tastes amazing!

i also recommend a tasty fruit plate for your friends to enjoy. there are so many great fruits in season this time of year!

signature mocktail or cocktail

Image

for a non-alcoholic drink, i recommend lemonade – and here is a great recipe for lavender lemonade, which is so delicious. bubbly is always my go-to for any kind of get-together! champagne is so yummy and you can make it fun by adding some frozen fruit skewers to every glass.

spring-themed treat

i always love dessert – what kind of party is it without a treat?

i recommend the adorable flower pot cookies above (recipe here) or something more simple, like the berry-topped cupcakes below.

a tuesday taste – tortellini & vegetable soup

one of my favorite sources for yummy and healthy recipes is the williams-sonoma blog, taste. this week i made a truly easy vegetable soup with cheese tortellini – original recipe found here.

Image

this soup tastes amazing with a crusty bread on the side – i prefer a slice of a french baguette. i used cheese tortellini, but i’m sure it would be delicious with a spinach version. i also made mine with low sodium chicken broth and it came out great.

what a great soup recipe for the exciting transition to spring and it’s so easy to make after a long day at work 🙂 try it out and let me know what you think!!

spring crush – orange lipstick

after this winter’s deep chill and snow frenzy, i’m ready to step out this spring with a bold, fun look! i’ve always been slightly obsessed with lip color – but i’m really looking forward to trying an orange lip this season! i recommend trying out the look at sephora, or buying a drugstore brand (which can be awesome!) before splurging on a more high end brand – especially since the orange is a bit wild 🙂

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Timanfaya ($25)

Image

This is a high-impact color and glides on your lips smoothly – great product. I am a huge fan of NARS!

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Toast ($24)

This shade is a burnt orange – not as bright but still a fun color. You can purchase this brand at Sephora.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Vibrant Mandarin ($8)

Here is a less expensive but just as lovely orange lipstick. If you’re a fan of a loud lip, then this is a great color for you!

But how do you wear an orange lipstick? My best recommendation is to keep your eyes bare. A little mascara is fine, but heavy eye makeup may be too intense paired with the orange lipstick.

Have you tried orange on your lips? Any favorite brands / colors?
